What is ACTT Med?
What Sets Us Apart
ACTT stands for Alternating Current Treatment Therapy. The device delivers a precisely calibrated alternating current in a patented sine wave form, at mid-to-high frequency and extremely low amperage. The waveform is engineered for tissue penetration rather than sensation.
The signal reaches the body non-invasively, through hypoallergenic transdermal pads placed on the skin or through a grounding sheet you simply sit or lie on. There is nothing to feel: sessions can run while you rest, sleep or read.
The underlying hypothesis is that exposure to this alternating current may increase the fourth phase of water, known as structured or EZ water, within the body. This is theorised to build larger exclusion zones inside blood vessels, potentially reducing internal friction and supporting microcirculation, oxygenation and toxin clearance at a cellular level. This is a hypothesis under investigation, not an established mechanism.
How an ACTT Med session works
What Sets Us Apart
1. Initial consultation. Our practitioners take a full health history and discuss your wellness goals. We confirm suitability and explain the protocol in plain terms. ACTT Med is not suitable for those who are pregnant, have epilepsy, use a pacemaker or have metallic implants.
2. Transdermal application. Hypoallergenic pads are placed on the skin at targeted sites, or you may simply sit or lie on a grounding sheet. The device operates silently and you feel nothing.
3. The session. Sessions typically run during a period of rest. You can read, meditate or simply relax. The alternating current works at a cellular level, with no sensation, no downtime and no recovery required.
4. Review and programme design. Our team discusses your response and designs an ongoing programme where appropriate, integrating ACTT Med alongside Battersea Park Clinic's wider integrative offering.

Research, regulation and the advisory board
What Sets Us Apart
ACTT Med is an early-stage technology, and we present it as exactly that. Preliminary laboratory work has been carried out in vitro, and a summary is available in the PDF further down this page and from our practitioners at the clinic. In vitro results do not guarantee equivalent outcomes in living systems, and in vivo human trials have not yet been conducted.
The company's advisory board includes clinicians and scientists trained at Johns Hopkins, Harvard Medical School, the Mayo Clinic, Stanford University, Siemens Healthineers and the University of Miami. Its board of directors includes David Pacitti, chief executive of Avanos Medical and former president of Siemens Medical Solutions USA, who also sits on the boards of AdvaMed and Orchestra BioMed.
With more than thirty years of global regulatory affairs experience on the advisory team, ACTT Med is actively progressing its regulatory strategy towards formal FDA engagement. Board and advisory committee members receive no financial compensation.
A mission born from loss
What Sets Us Apart
In 2004, ACTT Med founder Mike Colton lost his twenty-year-old son Ryan, almost overnight. That loss became the driving force behind two decades of research into alternating current therapy and its effects on the body at a cellular level.
It is an unusual origin for a wellness technology, and it explains a great deal about how the company is run. The board of directors and the medical advisory committee receive no financial compensation. They are involved because they believe the research is worth pursuing.
We think that context matters when you are considering an early-stage technology. We would rather tell you plainly where ACTT Med stands than overstate what is known.
