Targeted Matcha Supplement to Support Liver Markers, Gut
Balance, and Metabolic Resilience
BioMatcha is a matcha-based daily supplement designed to support healthy liver function and a balanced gut
microbiome, with clinical evidence from a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.

Why BioMatcha?
Modern diets and metabolic stress can place pressure on the gut–liver axis. When the gut ecosystem
becomes imbalanced, certain opportunistic microbes can proliferate and contribute to inflammatory load.
BioMatcha was developed to support a healthier microbial balance and normal liver enzyme levels through
targeted nutrition.

What makes it different?
Clinically studied, targeted microbiome modulation
In a controlled human trial, the matcha-based intervention was associated with:

  • Selective suppression of a key gut pathobiont (Klebsiella pneumoniae)
  •  Enrichment of beneficial taxa associated with gut barrier integrity and short-chain fatty acid production
  • Improvements in liver enzyme markers and systemic inflammation markers

Key benefits (structure/function)

  • Supports healthy liver enzyme markers (ALT and AST)
  •  Supports a balanced gut microbiome (favourable shifts in beneficial bacteria)
  • Supports a healthy inflammatory response (hs-CRP improvements observed in the study)
  • Supports appetite regulation and satiety (satiety improvements observed in the study)

Clinical evidence (8-week RCT summary)
Study design: Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, single-centre trial in Japan.
Participants: 68 overweight adults (BMI 25–35) with elevated liver enzymes; 34 received the matcha-based
supplement and 34 received placebo.
Dose: 4 tablets daily (total 1200 mg/day) for 8 weeks.
Outcomes observed in the intervention group vs placebo

  • ALT: decreased from 58.4 ± 12.1 to 41.2 ± 10.3 U/L (−29.4%, p < 0.001)
  • AST: decreased from 49.6 ± 9.7 to 38.1 ± 8.6 U/L (p = 0.002)
  • hs-CRP: decreased from 2.84 ± 0.96 to 1.72 ± 0.71 mg/L (−39.4%, p = 0.00
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae: reduced from 6.42 ± 0.61 to 5.31 ± 0.58 log10 copies/g stool (approximately

12-fold decrease; p < 0.001)

  • Beneficial bacteria increased: Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Akkermansia muciniphila, and Roseburia

spp. increased significantly

  • Satiety (VAS): increased from 46.2 ± 11.4 mm to 63.8 ± 10.6 mm (p < 0.001)
  • Weight: decreased from 78.6 ± 8.9 kg to 76.9 ± 8.5 kg (p = 0.01)

Safety: No serious adverse events were reported; mild transient events were similar between groups, and no participants discontinued due to adverse events.

How does it work?
BioMatcha provides matcha-derived bioactives that interact with the gut ecosystem. In the trial, this was
associated with:
1. Lowering specific opportunistic microbes linked to metabolic stress markers
2. Supporting beneficial microbes associated with gut barrier integrity
3. Reducing downstream inflammatory signalling, reflected in improved clinical markers

How to use

  • Dose: Take 4 tablets daily with water (consistent daily use recommended).
  • Suggested routine: Take with breakfast or lunch for habit consistency.
  • Program length: The clinical study lasted 8 weeks; many customers choose an 8-week cycle before reassessment.

Who it is for
BioMatcha is suited to adults who want to support:

  • Normal liver function markers
  • Gut microbiome balance
  • Appetite and satiety signals
  • Systemic inflammatory balance

Not suitable for: children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or those with known sensitivity to product ingredients
(see label).

What to expect?
Many people notice benefits gradually, as the gut ecosystem adapts. Consider tracking:

  • Energy and digestive comfort
  • Appetite/satiety patterns
  •  Your routine consistency across an 8-week cycle

What are catechins?
Catechins are naturally occurring plant compounds (polyphenols) found in especially high levels in green tea and matcha. They are best known for their antioxidant activity and for supporting the body’s normal response to everyday oxidative and metabolic stress. One of the most studied catechins is EGCG. Because matcha is made from whole green tea leaves, it provides a naturally concentrated source of these bioactive compounds, alongside other naturally occurring tea components.

FAQ
Is this a probiotic?
No. BioMatcha is a matcha-based supplement intended to support the gut environment and downstream metabolic markers via nutrition.

Can I take this with other supplements?
In the clinical trial, participants were asked not to introduce new supplements that could affect liver function or the microbiome during the study period. If you are using medications or managing a condition, consult a
clinician.

When should I take it?
Any consistent time daily. Many prefer morning or midday with food.
